Roofing

Shingle Roofing

Shingle roofing is popular due to its cost-effectiveness, variety, and ease of installation. It adds aesthetic value with numerous colors and styles, while offering durability for 20-30 years against various weather conditions. Shingle roofs are easy to repair, provide good sound insulation, and certain types enhance energy efficiency by reflecting sunlight and reducing heat absorption.

TPO Roofing

TPO roofing is an affordable single-ply membrane option known for its energy efficiency, durability, and ease of installation. It reflects sunlight, reducing cooling costs and is resistant to tears, UV rays, chemicals, and ozone. Its flexibility adapts to building movements, and it is environmentally friendly, recyclable, and low maintenance. TPO also resists mold and algae, maintaining its appearance over time.Benefits of Different Roofing Materials

 PVC Roofing

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) roofing is a single-ply roofing solution known for its durability, longevity, and energy efficiency. One of the standout features of PVC roofing is its resistance to chemical exposure, punctures, and impacts, making it an ideal choice for commercial buildings with flat or low-slope roofs. PVC roofing membranes are highly reflective, which helps in reducing cooling costs by reflecting UV rays and minimizing heat absorption. They are also fire-resistant and have excellent seam strength due to the heat-welded seams, ensuring a watertight installation that prevents leaks. Additionally, PVC roofs are low maintenance and can last 20-30 years or more with proper care.

 EPDM Roofing

EPDM (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) roofing is another single-ply membrane roofing option that is favored for its durability and cost-effectiveness. EPDM roofs are highly resistant to weathering, ozone, and UV radiation, making them a long-lasting choice for various climates. They are also flexible, allowing them to adapt to building movements and temperature fluctuations without cracking or breaking. EPDM membranes are available in both black and white, with the black version absorbing heat (ideal for colder climates) and the white version reflecting sunlight (suitable for warmer climates). Installation is relatively straightforward, and the material is lightweight, reducing the structural load on buildings. Additionally, EPDM roofs are known for their low maintenance requirements and long lifespan, often exceeding 20 years.

 Roof Coatings

Roof coatings are a versatile solution that can be applied to various roofing materials to extend their lifespan and enhance their performance. One of the primary benefits of roof coatings is their ability to reflect sunlight, which helps reduce cooling costs and improve energy efficiency for buildings. Roof coatings also provide an additional layer of protection against UV rays, weathering, and water penetration, effectively preventing leaks and prolonging the roof's life. They can also help in filling small cracks and seams, improving the overall durability of the roof. Furthermore, roof coatings are cost-effective, easy to apply, and environmentally friendly, as they can often be applied over existing roofing materials, reducing the need for complete roof replacements.

Torch Down Roofing

With over 90% of Residential homes using shingle’s not only are they Cost efficient, but they come in a variety of colors. Using only the Best, Owens Corning shingles are designed to be algae resistant and withstand wind gust’s of 110 mph.  The Composition of asphalt shingles and the synthetic underlayment provides insulation properties from external sounds. Perfect for steeper slopes.

E.P.D.M. (Rubber)

E.P.D.M. has one of the longest service life’s in the industry. Not only is it resistant to extreme temperatures, but also can withstand strong winds, and hail up to three inches in diameter. EPDM requires low maintenance and even lower energy costs. During the colder months UV rays are absorbed into the rubber trapping in heat and during the hotter months UV rays are reflected away from the building keeping it cooler inside. EPDM is designed to endure the harshest conditions.

TPO

TPO or Thermoplastic Polyolefin are popular with low-slope roofs. Thermoplastic roof systems are a synthetic substance who’s membrane is softened when heated and hardened upon cooling. This allows for flexibility which is a huge factor in the Northeast due to the extreme temperature change, as the building shrinks and expands so does the Membrane. TPO white color is highly reflective  and has an outstanding thermal performance in any condition. Tears and punctures are almost unheard of between the welded seams and the polyester reinforced scrim.

PVC

PVC or Polyvinyl Chloride is a Great choice for flat roofs where energy efficiency is paramount. Well known for it’s strength and durability PVC membrane is a great choice for any business that works with toxic chemicals due to it’s unparalleled  resistance to harmful compounds. Not only does PVC come in a variety of colors it carries a Class A rating making it Fire Resistance.

Modified Bitumen or Torch down Roof

Offers a Great quality roof at a lower cost for single ply membrane.  Made of a nonwoven polyester and a thick layer of asphalt this product comes in granulated and non-granulated.  While your non-granulated will be your go too for cost effectiveness. Granulated comes in a variety of colors and is more energy efficient. Torch down roofing is a type of modified bitumen roofing that is applied using a torch to heat and adhere the material to the roof surface. This roofing option is especially popular for flat or low-slope roofs due to its excellent waterproofing capabilities and durability. One of the main advantages of torch down roofing is its resistance to leaks, as the heat-applied process creates a seamless and watertight barrier. The material is also highly resistant to UV rays, fire, and extreme weather conditions, ensuring long-lasting performance. Torch down roofs are flexible, allowing them to expand and contract with temperature changes without cracking. Additionally, they require minimal maintenance and can last 15-20 years or more, making them a reliable and cost-effective roofing solution.
